We are really excited to let you know that our charity, Rwanda Seniors Life Centre (RSLC), is now supporting 9 elderly women in Rwanda. These women survived the genocide of 1994, but their family members were all killed. The support at this point consists of delivering care packages of basic food, personal care items and health care. We have also managed to bring these women together in community a few times, so they can share stories and support each other emotionally.
In order to continue to grow our capacity to help, we are planning a fundraising concert for Saturday November 9th, at Hillhurst United Church. This is sure to be an interesting evening…the concert will feature retired Canadian soldier, and now singer/songwriter, Tim Isberg. Tim has performed locally and internationally. As a performer, Tim Isberg shares a personal account of his year in 1994-95 as a Military Observer in Rwanda. Please visit timisberg.com to check out this special show, ’25 Years After: Songs and Stories of a Canadian Soldier in Rwanda’.
There will be a selection of light refreshments, Rwandan crafts for sale, and silent auction items to tempt our guests. 🙂
If you are interested in meeting new people; enjoying a fabulous concert together; learning about this amazing country that was so devastated, and yet is so committed to renewal; and if you would like to contribute to our efforts in supporting a group of elderly citizens, who have no one else to care for them, then this is the place you’ll want to be on November 9th!
Individual tickets are available for $80.00; ticket price is $75.00 each plus applicable fees, if purchased in groups of 4. We recommend that you reserve your tickets early, as this is sure to be a sold-out show!
Exactly $ 80 per ticket when paying with E-transfer. Processing fees do not apply.
